Rapid digital transformation highlights cyber security challenges for Australian businesses

29 April 2020: Kinetic IT today announced it is partnering with CrowdStrike®, a leader in cloud-delivered endpoint protection, to help customers protect their critical services and infrastructure from cyber threats through the adoption of next-generation security technologies.

Through this partnership, Kinetic IT will offer CrowdStrike’s transformative CrowdStrike Falcon® platform as part of its PROTECT+ solution.  Unifying next-generation antivirus (NGAV), IT hygiene, endpoint detection and response (EDR), threat intelligence, and proactive threat hunting, CrowdStrike Falcon will help strengthen Kinetic IT customers’ overall security posture and endpoint security.

According to AustCyber, global investment in cyber security is forecast to grow by 88% over the next eight years, representing an estimated spend of almost US$270 billion by 2026.  Australian investment is also on the rise, seeing an 8% increase to $3.9 billion spent on cyber security services and products in 2018[1].  This reflects the increasingly strategic role of cyber security as organisations continue to leverage cloud-based technologies to enable transformative growth and increase their competitive edge.

“As our customers transform, we’re seeing the impact of rapid adoption of cloud services, greater access to data and information, and flexible working.  This has driven the need to look at contemporary security solutions that support these new ways of working.  Traditional AV can’t keep up with the pace of change, making next-gen technologies a must,” said Kevin O’Sullivan, head of security services, Kinetic IT.

“By leveraging the cloud-native architecture of the platform, Kinetic IT can deliver faster, intelligent, and agile solutions to shared customers.”

CrowdStrike’s open API platform model has established a new standard in endpoint security.  With CrowdStrike Orchestration and Automation and the introduction of new and updated APIs via CrowdStrike Falcon Connect, Kinetic IT can seamlessly integrate its PROTECT+ solution with the platform’s lightweight agent.

“Australian organisations are increasingly adopting cloud-based, scalable cyber solutions that leverage next-gen technology such as AI to gain real-time visibility into all endpoint activity to detect and respond to breaches faster. CrowdStrike and Kinetic IT will work closely together to help customers understand their security risks and create actionable changes that strengthen an organisation’s security posture,” said Geoff Swaine, regional vice president, channel and alliances, CrowdStrike, Asia Pacific & Japan.

Kinetic IT leverages its connections with chosen partners, vendors, industry experts, and the wider security community to gain global insights, strengthen its extensive local knowledge and enable Kinetic IT to safeguard Australia’s critical services relied upon by communities.  Through contemporary ways of working, Kinetic IT empowers its strategic partners to help Australian organisations overcome the security challenges of today and those that are predicted for the future.
